$140M Raise

Line Next, the NFT subsidiary of Japanese messaging giant Line, has secured $140 million in a funding round led by private equity firm Crescendo Equity Partners.

The funds will expand Line Next's global NFT business and introduce services to drive broader Web3 adoption. These include Dosi, Line Next's global NFT marketplace, an AI avatar-powered social app, and blockchain games, all on the Finschia blockchain network (formerly Line Blockchain).

In other news, players can now bypass transaction fees on the Immutable zkEVM network, Rainbow Wallet launches its points-based program, and Worldcoin prepares for new app integrations.

Immutable revealed on Wednesday that players can skip transaction fees on its upcoming Immutable zkEVM network. This feature allows game developers to 'sponsor' gas fees for players, aiming to make gaming more affordable and remove barriers to wider blockchain gaming adoption.

Games operating on Immutable zkEVM, a gaming-focused Ethereum scaling network announced in March, will incorporate this feature.

Rainbow, a mobile and browser-accessible crypto wallet, introduced a points-based program to incentivize existing users and attract new ones.

The program, launched on Dec. 11, assessed user activity on Ethereum as the initial eligibility criterion. Rainbow allocated a minimum of 100 points to each Ethereum user, encouraging platform exploration. Additionally, Rainbow aims to entice MetaMask users by offering a points bonus to those who used MetaMask's swap service in the past year, with the bonus amount determined by their transaction volume.
