Mainnet Ready!

The Arbitrum Foundation has announced that new "layer-3" networks established through the project's "Orbit" program are now capable of settling on the Arbitrum main network.

Orbit, initiated earlier this year, is a program that enables blockchain developers to create their own layer-2 or layer-3 networks using Arbitrum's technology. Previously, these newly created layer-3 networks could only settle on an Arbitrum test network.

A Hefty Fine

A U.S. District Court judge has ruled that Ryder Ripps and Jeremy Cahen must pay Yuga Labs nearly $1.6 million in damages, in addition to covering legal fees, effectively concluding a protracted legal battle.

Yuga Labs had filed a lawsuit against Ripps and Cahen, alleging intellectual property infringement due to their creation of "copycat" NFTs that Yuga Labs claimed devalued its Bored Ape Yacht Club collection. The company filed its lawsuit in June 2022.

dYdX Is Now A Cosmos L1

The "alpha mainnet" for dYdX version 4, along with the debut of its standalone Cosmos-based blockchain, waslaunched today. This marks a significant milestone for the prominent decentralized derivatives platform.

In this alpha stage, the mainnet's primary objective is to stress-test the network. It is currently in the process of onboarding over 60 validators to enhance network security. A subsequent beta release is planned, contingent on approval through a community governance vote, ultimately enabling trading on the network.
