FMCSA Seeks Comments on Proposed DataQs Appeal Process FMCSA has announced a proposal to develop and implement a Federal appeal process on DataQs. The proposal would establish a Federal appeal process for Requests for Data Review (RDRs) submitted through FMCSA's DataQs system. This review process will provide users with an opportunity to have their requests reviewed by FMCSA after the request has been reviewed and reconsidered by the original assigned Agency. The outcome of the FMCSA review will be considered final. The motor carrier industry and industry groups, including the Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance (CVSA), have communicated to FMCSA the need for a standardized appeal process to eliminate disparities in handling RDRs and to ensure an impartial review of data-related concerns. The proposed appeal process is intended to create more consistency in how DataQs appeals are addressed across the Nation. FMCSA is seeking public comments on the proposed DataQs appeal process. The comment period will be open until November 13, 2023. For more information about the proposal, including how to submit comments, visit the Federal Register docket. FMCSA Further Enhances DataQs Website On September 11, FMCSA released additional enhancements to the DataQs website. The DataQs enhancements include: - Help Center with new topic categories and a search feature to make it easier to find answers to questions.
- My DataQs Page with a new default search function that allows users to save frequently used search terms. This feature is useful for users who submit requests on behalf of multiple drivers or motor carriers.
- Request Summary Page that makes it easier to track RDRs, upload documents, and correspond with the Agency responsible for handling the RDR.
- Mobile Device Compatibility designed with CMV drivers in mind so they can access DataQs at any time.
Accessing the DataQs Website Motor carriers can log in with their FMCSA Portal username and password, and drivers can log in with a DataQs username and password. To learn more or submit an RDR, log in to the DataQs website. |
