Bitcoin (BTC) surged past the $30,000 mark on Friday morning, extending its weekly gains to over 11%. This price increase was driven by optimistic sentiments regarding the potential approval of a spot Bitcoin exchange-traded fund (ETF) in the United States.

In the past week, multiple ETF providers made adjustments to their filings, and there was growing pressure on the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to reconsider its position on approving a Bitcoin ETF.

This acquisition represents the growing integration of traditional financial infrastructure (TradFi) and blockchain technology as banks and asset managers work to tokenize real-world assets (RWA).

The total value locked on Gnosis Chain, an Ethereum sidechain, has experienced significant growth, doubling from $75 million to approximately $150 million since the start of October. This expansion coincided with a notable increase in network transactions and associated fees.

This surge was primarily driven by the transfer of $50 million in stablecoins to Gnosis Chain. These funds are being utilized to secure an enhanced savings rate via MakerDAO's Spark lending protocol, which currently offers interest rates exceeding 7%.
