|  Rural Champions, The National Center for Rural Road Safety (the Center) is proud to announce that Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) Administrator Shailen Bhatt will be a keynote speaker at the National Summit on Rural Road Safety. Administrator Bhatt will take part in a fireside chat at 9 a.m. CT on Tuesday, Sept. 12. He will be preceded by a video message from United States Department of Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg. "We are thrilled to have engagement by the top leaders of our nation's transportation department," said Jaime Sullivan, director of the Center. "Having Administrator Bhatt make an in-person appearance, and Secretary Buttigieg a virtual appearance, proves how important rural road safety is to them and to the overall health of our nation's road system and communities."
