friend.tech, a new decentralized social network, generated over $1 million in fees within 24 hours on August 19. This outperformed established crypto players like Uniswap and Bitcoin.

Launched in beta on August 11, friend.tech lets users tokenize their social networks through shares trading, enabling private messaging between share holders. The platform imposes a 5% transaction fee, contributing to the owner's profit.

Despite having raised $50 million and secured support from notable backers, NFT platform Recur has announced its decision to shut down

In the coming months, Recur's key functionalities will be gradually phased out, according to a blog post from the company. This includes features such as withdrawing NFTs from the platform, converting stablecoin balances to cash, and engaging in collectible trades on Recur's hosted marketplaces.
