Onchain Summer

Coinbase has partnered with major companies, including Coca-Cola and Atari, for the launch of its Base layer 2 mainnet on August 9.

This collaboration will involve daily mints of on-chain collectibles as part of the "Onchain Summer" initiative. Additionally, Coinbase plans to provide over 100 Ether in grants, valued at around $183,000, to support teams building applications on Base.

A New Appointment

Binance has appointed Kristen Hecht as its new Deputy Chief Compliance and Global Money Laundering Reporting Officer as the cryptocurrency exchange faces increased regulatory scrutiny.

Previously, Hecht was the Global Head of Corporate Compliance at Binance and served as the Chief Compliance Officer at Novi Financial, Meta's crypto wallet project.

Game developer nWay has revealed its upcoming project, Wreck League, a 3D mech-fighting game that will feature NFT collections from Yuga Labs, including the popular Bored Ape Yacht Club, in its first season.

Tech entrepreneur and rapper Heather Morgan, who goes by the name 'Razzlekhan', and her husband Ilya Lichtenstein, have pleaded guilty to money laundering charges in federal court. Morgan also pleaded guilty to a fraud charge.

U.S. law enforcement revealed that Lichtenstein was involved in a hack of the trading platform Bitfinex.
