Multi-chain drain

Inferno Drainer, a scam vendor, has allegedly been linked to thousands of scams resulting in the theft of several million dollars, according to scam identification platform Scam Sniffer.

By analyzing off-chain and on-chain data on Ethereum, Arbitrum, BNB Chain, and other chains, the security firm identified 4,888 victims who collectively lost over $5.9 million in cryptocurrencies and NFTs.

Metamask FUD debunked

Tweets claiming that Metamask had updated their terms of service to include rights to collect taxes on crypto transactions made using the wallet were debunked by ConsenSys.

"The tax section in our terms of service falls under the 'fees and payment' section, and it exclusively pertains to products and paid plans offered by ConsenSys," the company explained.

President Joe Biden took a swipe at "wealthy tax cheats and crypto traders" during the G7 forum in Japan during the closing press conference. Biden views that they are undeserving beneficiaries of Republican lawmakers with whom his administration is negotiating a new budget — without which the American government could potentially default on its debt payments on June 1.

"Let me be clear, I'm not going to agree to... a deal that protects wealthy tax cheats and crypto traders while putting food assistance at risk for nearly 1 million Americans," he said.
