New On The Blog: How to Plan Monthly Versus Weekly Did anyone else enjoy writing Monday's date (03/13/23) or maybe I'm the only weirdo who pays attention to that sort of thing!? And then yesterday, 3.14, was "pi day" (more on that below). Friday is St. Patrick's Day (we'll wear green)... Monday is the first day of spring (hallelujah)... and we're in the thick of March Madness (everyone made their brackets on Monday). Today is just March 15... but it's a Wednesday, which means you get an email from me! 🥳 Feel free to forward this email to anyone you think might enjoy reading it -- thanks. Simple Food. In honor of "pi day" yesterday -- and the fact that I'm married to a math teacher, I thought it was fitting to re-share my favorite pie recipes. Spring is almost here, friends... treat yourself to a slice or two of these delicious pies! Try my recipes --> Our Favorite Pies Organized Home. I've always (always) been a paper planner gal... and up until a few months ago, I've always used a weekly planner. This year, I switched to a monthly planning system... and I LOVE it! Learn more --> How to Plan Monthly Versus Weekly Intentional Living. For those of you sticking around home for Spring Break, I highly recommend you plan a few "fun to-do lists" for that week. Our family loves fun to-do lists during school breaks... and sometimes just on a random Tuesday! They are simple, frugal ways to make mundane days at home a lot more fun and exciting. Keep reading --> Why we love Fun To-Do Lists! In other news... It's officially been a full year since I decided to grow out my hair... I honestly thought it would be SO much longer by now! If you're new here... this is what my hair has looked like since roughly 2011. I LOVED it short, but I was ready for a change! Last spring wasn't awkward yet, just a longer "mohawk" while Dave trimmed the back every 3 weeks to prevent a mullet! I rocked a messy bobby pinned look most of the summer... Until it started to get REALLY shaggy towards the end of summer. I felt like I moved past the most awkward stage by October, when I could finally tuck it behind my ears (Dave was still trimming the back for me). Then I started pulling the front chunk back to keep it out of my face. And the front/sides FINALLY caught up with the back over the last month! I'm entering the next awkward stage where the back of my hair is growing out and constantly catches on my collar. It's still not long enough for a ponytail... but at least I can style it (I'm enjoying the wavy look right now). As I mentioned above, I really thought it would be MUCH longer after a whole year. Apparently, the average hair growth is 5-6 inches per year... and considering I had a few trims over the last 12 months, I guess I'm pretty close to that number. Patience, young grasshopper... 😂 Have a wonderful week! Andrea p.s. Let me know what YOUR favorite planning tools are in the comments or by replying to this email! p.p.s.
