Binance Reacts to CFTC Lawsuit

Largest cryptocurrency exchange Binance issued a response to the lawsuit which was served, citing that the complaint was 'unexpected and disappointing' as they have been collaborating with regulators actively.

The Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) filed a lawsuit against Binance for allegedly violating trading and derivatives rules.

Binance affirmed that the best path forward would be for the cryptocurrency exchange to continue protecting users while working with regulators to develop a clear regulatory framework.

Vitalik Guest Appearance on Polygon zkEVM Launch

Polygon Network launched the long-awaited mainnet for its Polygon zkEVM network on Monday March 27.

In marking this significant event, the sidechain invited Ethereum founder Vitalik Buterin to send out the network's first transaction.

Buterin incorporated a hidden message into the hex code which says,"A few million constraints for man, unconstrained scalability for mankind."

Disney's Metaverse Faces Layoffs

Entertainment giant Walt Disney announced that it would be laying off 7,000 of its staff in an attempt to control costs and streamline its businesses.

The layoffs saw the disband of its metaverse team with a headcount of 50, as it questions the future of Web3 in its business.

The announcement comes after Disney first set out its metaverse strategy in mid-2022, picking Polygon as its blockchain partner.

Nvidia Slams Crypto, Despite Profits

Technology hardware manufacturer Nvidia's Chief Technology Officer Michael Kagan issued a statement that crypto "doesn't bring anything useful for society".

The company has profited off of the cryptocurrency mining industry in recent years, with miners favoring Nvidia's powerful graphics cards (GPUs).

Kagan hopes that the company's products would be adopted more for artificial intelligence (AI) development instead of crypto mining.
