The Bank for International Settlements (BIS) launches Project Pyxtrial to better monitor stablecoins' balance sheets as they become more entrenched in mainstream finance.
With the top stablecoin already making a $100 billion market, the BIS aims to sharpen its focus on stablecoins and Central Bank Digital Currencies (CBDCs) in 2023.
Beyond securing the financial sector, BIS is also exploring retail CBDCs as a means of enabling a cheaper and more efficient payments system.

American sneaker designer and collector Sean Wotherspoon launches his inaugural 3,100-piece digital wearables collection, drawing inspiration from own vintage pieces.
The collection will be launched through virtual goods company MNTGE, who has plans to organize a physical MNTGE Market within the year showcasing Wotherspoon's curated pieces.
Wotherspoon's entry into Web3 follows an avalanche of Web2 brands and designers venturing into the space, including the likes of Nike, Gucci, Adidas, Tiffany amongst others.
