Paxos Trust Company issued a statement stating that it "categorically disagrees" with the American securities regulator's stance of categorizing BUSD as a security.
The statement follows recent developments from the United States Securities and Exchange Commission over BUSD and its alleged failure to comply with federal securities laws. The stablecoin issuer said that the BUSD will remain fully supported and redeemable for users through minimally February 2024, and Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao stated that the exchange would continue to support it.
