| The National Center for Rural Road Safety and NLTAPA Safety Work Group are co-hosting a FREE, 1.5-hour online webinar entitled Road Ecology: Safety for Four-Legged Pedestrians. This webinar will be held Thursday, February 16, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM Mountain/1:00 PM to 2:30 PM Eastern. Road ecology has made substantial advances over the last few decades. Our knowledge has increased and mitigation measures to reduce the impacts of roads and traffic on wildlife are now widespread and implemented regularly. In many cases, the mitigation measures address human safety through reducing collisions with large mammals, provide safe crossing opportunities for wildlife, and it can even make economic sense to implement these mitigation measures. With funding for wildlife provisions, research, and training recently being added in the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL), let's dive into a discussion on wildlife-vehicle collision mitigation. To find out more details and register for the webinar, please click on the button below. Instructions on accessing the webinar will be sent after your registration is confirmed. Thank you for letting us be your "Safety Sidekick"! We look forward to having you join us! Sincerely, Jaime Sullivan Rural Road Safety Center info@ruralsafetycenter.org | | | | |
