New on the Blog: Simple Strategies to Curb Consumerism For the first time since having children, Dave and I literally got an extra hour of sleep when we pushed the clocks back last weekend! We put the kids to bed at their normal times, waited until they were all sleeping, then bumped their clocks back one hour and went to bed. The next morning, we were both pleasantly surprised that the kids all stayed sleeping until the "allowed" wake-up time on Sunday morning. Whew... it only took 11 years! 😂 Simple Food. Simon's basketball "team" came in 2nd place in their 3-on-3 tournament. James lost his first tooth at school (his teacher does super fun stuff when they lose a tooth AT school). Clara was the "star student" so I got to read/sing some of our favorite giant books to her class. Are you in the process of downsizing and wishing you would be done already? I hate to break it to you, but you'll probably never be done. I enjoyed reading Young House Love's perspective on their multi-year downsizing journey. Clutter-Free Gift Idea = Snack Boxes! The boys went to a double birthday party for friends over the weekend and we couldn't come up with any great gift ideas that weren't ridiculously expensive, or just cheap crap... so we made "snack boxes" and they were a HIT! The boxes were really fun to put together and now all 4 of my kids have requested "snack boxes" for Christmas! Speaking of birthdays... Nora turns 11 in 13 days -- how is that possible!
