European Metaverse Awards - our summary and feelings. Best Metaverse players you may want to use. Is the Metaverse what we believe it is?
We didn't get an award, if you're curious. But still we did win: many invaluable connections on the European level, many great startups, and discussing the future of Metaverse and Web3 with awarded industry leaders. You can see the gallery here.
But are we ready for the Metaverse?
As much as the Metaverse is more likely to explode in other parts of the world, like South-East Asia or South America - it is crucial for projects to build local relevance, connections and community.
One of prevailing subjects of our conversations was "OK, but where is Web3 in all this?".
The Summit was opened with a keynote speech from Robert Guenther, Head of Reality Labs Developer Partnerships at Meta. Despite the presence of Sebastien Borget, the co-founder of The SANDBOX - it was clear that the next phase of Metaverse development will be about empowering current Web2 users. And that this will likely not come from metaverse-native startups like Decentraland - but from the brands like Meta or Roblox, followed by iconic brands like NIKE or H&M.

ALISSIA - focused on offering diversity, only high-class quality spaces and "not selling out our beautiful ecosystem". Web3 ready.
NEXR - allowing creation of virtual fitting rooms and other applications based on real body scan. No Web3.
