New on the Blog: 5 questions to ask before you buy anything. Seasonal changes are a healthy reminder that real life doesn't stay the same. Watching the leaves change color reminds me that as our children get older and their needs change, so too must our routines change. What worked for us last year (or last week) might not work today. This does NOT mean we did anything wrong or wasted our efforts! Presently, our daily life is busier than in past years, our dinner hour is not as predictable, and our bedtimes are slowly creeping later and later. I've rearranged children's bedrooms (yet again), swapped snowsuits for swimsuits, and tweaked our pantry layout to accommodate little hands packing their own snacks. All small changes that, together, help our home and our family life run more smoothly in this new season. There's no stopping the seasons (weather or life)... we must simply embrace them as they arrive. May you too find ways to welcome whatever new seasonal changes have come your way. 🍂🍁 Simple Food. She finally got a watch (now we just need to teach her to tell time!) One of my afternoon projects today is making these delicious Lemon Squares... I realize it's not quite "citrus season" yet, but they sound good! My neighbor and I went to a Mama Bear Apologetics conference here in town over the weekend -- yes, Hilary was actually in our small little town! It was SOOOOOOO good, and I just wanted to give them a little shout-out. If you need another blog to follow, a podcast to listen to, or a new book to read, check them out! Holiday Prep: I'm won't be putting up our tree or making Christmas cookies any time soon, but I wanted to mention that NOW is a great time to consider some of your holiday traditions... including how much time, effort, and money you'll devote to buying gifts and clothing, entertainment, parties, vacations, extra food, etc. Is it all really necessary?
