Stgt.xtgem.com – On Tuesday, my teammate Kyle sent you information about match campaigns and how to discern their legitimacy (forwarded below). I hope this information was helpful!
Like the nonprofits we rate, we depend on the generosity of others to fund our programs. Right now, we’re running a special initiative where you can fund a match for Charity Navigator, inspiring others to support our mission and, ultimately, doubling your impact on our ratings and resources.
A gift of any amount will truly make a difference for the millions of donors that depend on us to inform their giving and, most importantly, those who benefit from the critical programs at the nonprofits we evaluate.
Warmly,
Kevin
P.S. If you’d rather donate via mail, kindly send your check made payable to “Charity Navigator” to Charity Navigator, P.O. Box 4009, Harlan, IA 51593. Be sure to reply directly to this email noting the amount of your gift, so we may immediately add it to our campaign progress total.
All gifts received through our Matching Fund emails by the deadline of 11:59:59 PM EDT, September 30, 2022, qualify for this Match Fund offer. Charity Navigator is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Your contribution is tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law, excluding the match grant amount, and is in support of Charity Navigator, not another charity listed on our website.

Stgt.xtgem.com – As you can imagine, many people come to us with questions before they donate. We often field questions about how match campaigns work, as they can seem too good to be true.
For a quick refresher, match campaigns are when your donation unlocks a portion of the funder’s gift, multiplying your gift.
So, how can you tell whether or not a campaign is genuine before you support it? When you receive an appeal asking for your support of a match, it should have clear information about the match total, where the gift came from (e.g., board of directors, anonymous donor, corporation, etc.), and when the match expires.
We encourage you to reach out to the charity conducting the match and ask if they conduct independent, annual audits and if their auditors review match campaign documentation. The answer you’re looking for is a resounding yes, which you can confirm via the ‘Audited Financials Prepared by Independent Accountant’ metric included as a part of their Charity Navigator Finance & Accountability score.
Just a couple of weeks ago, I compiled documentation for our team of independent auditors, proofing and validating all of our match campaigns conducted in our last fiscal year, as this is an annual practice of ours.
A gift of any amount will help us achieve our goal of $120,000 before the month ends, making a tremendous impact on our small but mighty team and the ratings and resources we produce.
Warmly,
Kyle
