Welcome to The Week in Charts, where we break down Gallup's latest insights on our constantly evolving world. Here are the five insights you shouldn't miss this week: | 1. Concerning Signs for the Housing Market | | After a bull market in the housing industry as most of the world emerged from COVID lockdown, Americans are cooling on whether it's a good time to buy a home. Today, a record-low 30% of Americans tell Gallup now is a good time to buy, while seven in 10 say it's a bad time. Last we checked, a majority of Americans support upholding the seminal case that recognized the right to choose abortion as within a woman's constitutional right to privacy. Read Article | | 5. Post-Election Hangover in the Philippines? | | Filipinos went to the polls Monday to choose a new president. Regardless of the outcome, real work is needed to address the economic pain Filipinos are feeling. The Philippine economy plunged into recession after the COVID-19 pandemic started, and the effects have been felt across the country. Across all age groups of Filipinos, majorities said in 2021 that they were having difficulty getting by on their current household income. Read Article | | And that's The Week in Charts!
