Western Governors University: Creating Opportunities for Working Learners | As COVID-19 continues to disrupt a third academic year for thousands of college and university students — resulting in a 3% decline in undergraduate enrollment in fall 2021 — more Americans are questioning the value and viability of completing a four-year degree. This is particularly true for working learners, many of whom grapple with program costs and childcare responsibilities, as well as work schedules. As government and business navigate new approaches to hiring talent with the right experiences it furthers the debate around the current value of higher education and how institutions must look for new innovative ways to serve working learners. Western Governors University (WGU) partners with Gallup annually to survey thousands of WGU graduates and compare those outcomes to national benchmarks. The goal is to measure the extent to which a WGU education—competency-based, workforce aligned, technologically enabled, and student centered—is effective in helping working learners thrive in the workforce and in their lives. Join us on June 16, 2022, live in Washington, D.C. as experts from Gallup, Western Governors University, and policymakers discuss the value of higher education and how it must adapt to serve workforce needs. Light breakfast and refreshments will be served. | | | | Conversation Details | The conversation will focus on: - How institutions can support the working learner
