New on the Blog: Practical Ways to Save (without stressing about rising grocery prices). Our stinky pear trees are in full bloom, which means our yard looks gorgeous but smells like dead fish -- perfect for your online viewing pleasure! π€£ Simple Food. It's strawberry season for much of the country (we're waiting a few more weeks here in West Michigan) and this yummy pie is one of my most FAVORITE strawberry recipes. I make it every year for my birthday and we gobble it up! Try my recipe --> Strawberry Pie Organized Home. Last year, we cut up six 4' x 8' rectangles of sod in our front yard and planted a vegetable garden. After almost 16 years of home-ownership, this was the cutest, neatest, easiest-to-maintain vegetable garden we've ever had. And it produced a ton of veggies with minimal cost or upkeep! If you're overwhelmed with the idea of planting a vegetable garden, I encourage you to start with 1 or 2 little rectangles of plants. I explain the entire process in the post below. Keep reading --> An Easy Veggie Garden Intentional Living. It's no secret that grocery prices are on the rise (and not going down any time soon). I've gotten dozens of emails asking for tips to "save more on groceries", but I think I have something even better for you... Learn more --> Practical ways to save (without stressing about grocery prices). In other news... It's "mulch" week at our home -- 23 yards delivered on Monday and my personal goal is to be finished by Friday. We're making good progress and it looks fantastic! We're also opening the pool today! The kids are so excited because it's been in the 80's all week and they are ready to jump in. We're bribing them though -- they help us with mulch first, then they can swim to cool off! Today marks 20 days of school until summer break so Clara and I made a Candy Countdown Chain. Every day when the kids get off the bus, they'll get to cut down one more "candy pouch" and enjoy it with their after-school snack. We did this for Christmas and it was a huge hit! I'll end today's email with another silly joke from the kids (on my Mother's Day gift). π₯° Have a great week... and let me know if you have any other solutions to avoid the stress of rising grocery prices. ~ Andrea |
