Americans' Wellbeing Plummets | | Amid soaring inflation and coming off the omicron COVID-19 surge in January, Americans' life evaluations in February hit a 13-month low. Independents' wellbeing took the biggest hit, with thriving rates among them dropping steeply since June 2021. Daily stress and worry remained steady and near pre-pandemic levels. Read Article | | 2. Afghans' Suffering Reaches World High | | Suffering in Afghanistan has reached a global high we have not captured previously in more than 15 years of polling the world. The survey, conducted as the U.S. withdrew troops and the Taliban took over the country, found 94% of Afghans rating their current and future lives poorly enough to be considered suffering. We also found that experiencing a severe weather event renders one more likely to be worried about global warming, and this is true among both party groups.
