Short on time? Read: A Simpler Approach to the Holidays Yesterday morning, I spoke for a local women's group about planning ahead and being prepared, all from a place of peace (not obsessively worrying about controlling the future). It's often a delicate balance between trusting God and working diligently to plan and prepare (or maybe I'm the only one who struggles with this!?) The difference for me comes down to "worry" versus "concern". Worry immobilizes us and causes unhealthy fear and anxiety, while concern motivates us to take action. My Family Emergency Binder was one of the topics we discussed yesterday and all the women went home with my free Emergency Binder template... which got me thinking that I'd love for you to utilize this free template too! If you've ever wondered what would happen if a tragedy hit your family, I encourage you to take action and make your own Emergency Binder now! Then enjoy peace of mind, knowing you have all your important information in one spot... just in case. Simple Food. I get so many questions about "from scratch" mashed potatoes -- mostly from people who assume it's just too time-consuming to peel, chop, boil, mash, etc. I promise, mashed potatoes are simple! Just flip on your favorite music or podcast while you peel and chop, and then wow your family and holiday guests with real mashed potatoes this year! Do you ever wish you could simplify the holiday season (and other special occasions) but feel bad about changing things up? Try it --> A Simpler Approach to the Holidays In other news... Congrats to Sherrie M. and Emily V. (the winners of last week's Amazon gift cards)... Happy Shopping! And thanks for all the comments last week! It was fun to hear creative gift suggestions from so many of you! Looking for a good (easy) Christmas cookie recipe for an upcoming party, or just for your family and friends? I have a bunch of yummy recipes right here! After last week's email, I got dozens of questions asking where I buy my white and brown craft paper gift wrap. I buy giant rolls on Amazon for a pretty reasonable price, but I'm sure they are available at many craft and office supply stores too. Just make sure you buy rolls that are at least 36"-wide, otherwise it will be too narrow for most gifts. It's our FAVORITE way to wrap gifts all year round! It's been 18 months since I've done anything on social media, and as weird as it might sound, I'm actually really looking forward to holiday parties this year because I have so much catching up to do! One more perk of no social media. 😆 I made a fun "Christmas Candy Countdown" for the kids this year, and it's a huge hit! You can make one today (10 days left). Simply find a variety of candy (1 piece of each candy for every person in your home) and wrap it up in a LONG section of plastic wrap tied with ribbons between each group of candy. We hung ours next to the dining room and the kids take turns cutting off one candy "pouch" each night after dinner. SO FUN! NOTE: I'm taking the next 3 weeks off from the online world... feel free to do the same! Merry Christmas & Happy New Year to you... I'll see you right back here in 2022! Blessing, Andrea |
