Short on time? Read: 7 Ways I Simplify My Days I've been toying with the idea of creating more of a "newsletter" each week -- not just sharing one new post or video. And after so many of you requested that I continue sharing archived posts as I did over the summer, I figured it was a good time to try a new email format. Moving forward, I plan to highlight the 3 areas mentioned in my tagline each week:
Sometimes I'll highlight a new tip, home project, or recipe. Other times I might share a post from the archives. I hope to do more videos again soon, and I'd like to start sharing more everyday family stuff -- or even a "quick tip" or interesting thought that isn't worthy of a stand-alone post (something I might share on social media if I did social media). My hope is that this new format will make it even easier for you and your family to enjoy simple food, an organized home, and intentional living (at least on Tuesday mornings!) Simple Food. Dave loves Mexican, I love "loaded salads", the kids love chicken... so Fiesta Chicken Salad is one of my go-to meals for busy weeknights. I use up whatever veggies and seasonings I have on hand, I always make enough for leftovers, and I punch up the flavor with a simple homemade dressing. If you're looking for a deliciously light yet filling Mexican meal to add to your rotation, give this one a try! Get the recipe: Fiesta Chicken Salad Organized Home. I've always been an apple fanatic -- so it was only a matter of time before I came up with an APPLE acronym for maintaining an organized home -- perfect for these Fall-feeling days! A = Always put things away. P = Purge regularly. P = Put an end to procrastination. L = Leave each space better than it was. E = Eliminate excuses. Read the full post: An APPLE a day Keeps the Clutter Away Intentional Living. Over the last 3-5 years, I've been on a mission to SLOW DOWN -- partially out of necessity as we added more children to our family; but also out of sheer desire to be more intentional about the ways we steward our time here on earth. As our children get older, simple living has become more challenging -- but we're sticking with it. I recently put together a short list of specific things I do (and don't do) that have a big impact on the pace of our home, our family, and our life. I can't guarantee each tip will work for you... but you might be surprised! Read the full post: 7 Ways I Simplify My Days In other news... Miss Clara started preschool this morning... if only her backpack was a little bigger! 🤣 I fulfilled my life-long dream of being a fashion model (LOL). I participated in a fall fashion show for our church last week... it was fun, but I don't plan to quit my day job! I changed our furnace filters over the weekend... which prompted me to share the current BOGO deal from Second Nature. If you order in September, you'll get your 2nd shipment of filters completely FREE (affiliate link) with the code: IPBOGOAFP. Oh, and the Wendy's Boo Books are back! For a $1 donation, you get 5 coupons for free Frosties. My kids look forward to it every Fall. Kids say the darnedest things... I made Chili for dinner last week... which isn't the kid's favorite (but they ate it). Then yesterday, Clara said, "mom, don't make that cold soup again this week". I was confused until I realized she was thinking "chilly" as in "cold", not "chili". So cute! That's all for today. Have a great week! Andrea p.s. Can I get an "Amen" for this quote? A quiet life isn't necessarily one of resignation or flight, it may constitute a supremely wise recognition that the truly satisfying things are available away from the spotlight and the big cities, on modest salaries and as far as possible from the manic, sleepless competition to 'win' the professional status race. |
