The last week can be summarized by RAIN... lots and lots of rain. It wasn't a great week for swimming, but wonderful for our productivity! Instead of enjoying relaxing days by the pool, Dave tackled a few smaller house projects, I got all caught up on my digital photo albums, the kids plowed through stacks of library books and LEGO kits, and we finished the mini fort and sandbox projects we've been promising the kids since spring (in between showers).
All this rain has been fantastic for our vegetable garden too. I'll share more on that soon (spoiler alert -- we're loving the front yard veggie garden, so far!) From The Archives: >> Quick Cleaning Tips << In the summer especially, I focus on "quantity" over "quality" when it comes to cleaning my home... our home is cleaner (at least on a surface level) and everyone is happier as a result! If you'd like more bang for your buck when cleaning (and a little more time for the activities you really want to do this summer) follow along with my quick cleaning tips. >> Refrigerator Dill Pickles << Although Dave and I do not (and have never) liked pickles, all 4 of our children are obsessed. They would happily munch on dill pickles at almost any meal, almost any time of day. A few years ago, I came across the EASIEST refrigerator dill pickle recipe, and I've been making double and triple batches ever since. If you have lots of garden cucumbers (or if you just want to experiment with store-bought cucumbers) give my easy refrigerator pickle recipe a try. >> 5 Ways I Alleviate Restless Leg Syndrome << Several years ago, I shared a bit of my "struggle" with Restless Leg Syndrome and the remedies I found to alleviate many of the symptoms. RLS is something I've dealt with since childhood and it's always worse for me in the hot, humid summer months. If you have RLS, I'd encourage you to try a few of these simple ideas. Cheers to 15! 🥰 I've officially known Dave longer than I haven't... my life is better for it. See more anniversary pictures in these posts. Check back next Tuesday for my newest Favorite Things... ...and have a great week (and Happy 4th of July)! ~ Andrea p.s. have you missed any recent blog posts? Get caught up here. |
